How Tell Trap handles player names, settings and purchases.
About this policy
Tell Trap is provided by Enquire Studio, an independent UK product studio. This policy covers the Tell Trap app. For privacy questions or requests, email hello@enquirestudio.co.uk. Last updated: 3 October 2026.
The short version
No account is needed. Tell Trap has no ads and no general-purpose behavioural analytics. The game runs on your device. Apple and RevenueCat process information needed to sell, verify and restore the optional Full Casebook purchase.
Player names and game settings
The last group of player names and your settings are saved locally on your device. You can use nicknames. Tell Trap does not send these names or your game answers to Enquire Studio or RevenueCat. Secret words, roles and votes are held for the current game and are not saved by the app between launches. Your device backup settings may also apply to local app data.
Purchase information
RevenueCat assigns an anonymous app user identifier and processes purchase history, transaction and receipt information, entitlement status and technical information such as app version and platform. This lets us verify purchases, restore access, prevent purchase fraud and understand sales through RevenueCat purchase reporting. This is purchase analytics, rather than tracking your general gameplay behaviour. We do not provide RevenueCat with player names, email addresses or advertising identifiers from the app. Apple handles payment details; Tell Trap does not receive your full payment-card details. Permissions and tracking
Tell Trap does not request camera, microphone, contacts or location access. The fingerprint graphic is a hold-to-reveal game control: it does not scan or collect fingerprints. We do not sell personal information or use it for advertising across apps or websites.
If you contact support or visit these pages
If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you choose to send so we can answer your request. Please avoid sending player names or screenshots containing private information. Our website hosting provider processes normal connection information, such as IP address and browser request details, to deliver and protect these pages. These Tell Trap pages do not add advertising or behavioural analytics scripts.
Why we use information
We process purchase information to provide and administer the digital content you request, including fulfilment of the purchase contract. We rely on legitimate interests for service security, purchase reporting and responding to support enquiries, and on legal obligations where records must be retained. Local names and settings support the game experience you choose.
Sharing and international processing
Information is handled by service providers supporting purchases, website hosting and email, and by Apple for its store services. We may disclose information if legally required. Providers may process data outside the UK. Where required, international transfers use recognised safeguards such as adequacy decisions or approved contractual protections. Provider privacy information explains their processing in more detail.
Storage and retention
Local names and settings remain until replaced or the app and its data are deleted; deleting the app does not cancel an Apple purchase or remove store transaction records. Purchase records are retained as needed to verify and restore access and meet legal requirements. Support correspondence is retained only as long as needed to resolve the enquiry and any related legal or service obligations. You may ask us about retention or request deletion using the contact address above; some transaction records must be retained.
Your choices and rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information, restrict or object to processing, and receive a portable copy. Contact us to exercise these rights. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office or your local data protection authority. We may need proportionate information to verify a request; we do not ask you to share your Apple password.
Children and changes
No player account or age profile is created. A parent or guardian should supervise children's purchases and contact us with any privacy concern. We will update this page when the app's data practices change and show the updated date above.
